English Holiday Homework

In the blink of an eye, the year is almost coming to an end. 5B children have worked hard this year and I commend them for their diligence and effort.

For those who have done well, I congratulate you. For those who have not achieved their targets, do not despair. Continue to work hard and persevere on.

Here is a reminder of your holiday homework:

  1. English Topical Quiz 10
  2. English Topical Quiz 11
  3. Build up your vocabulary bank (target = 15 words per week)
Remember our computer lesson on building up our vocabulary bank? Here's a reminder how:

Step 1
Look for articles found in the following online newspapers. It is better to pick local news, as such news are easily related to, compared to world economics or finance.
  1. http://www.todayonline.com/index
  2. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/
  3. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/singapore/

Step 2
Take note of “new words” you may come across and check their meaning in the dictionary or online dictionary.

Step 3
Put your hard work in a database such as an excel file.

Lastly, I would like to share an informationative blog about PSLE. Please read with discernment. Click here.
